County government isn’t full of glitz and glamour, but it matters.
The Polk County Board of Supervisors oversees systems that affect people every day: public health, infrastructure, transportation, human services, and how public dollars are invested across our communities.
I’ve spent my career working inside complex systems helping institutions function more fairly, more effectively, and with greater accountability. I don’t approach leadership as a performance. I approach it as stewardship.
I’m running because I believe Polk County deserves leadership that is prepared, transparent, and focused on the long term.
Why I’m Running
I lead with:
Preparation and follow-through
Listening before deciding
Accountability without blame
A focus on long-term outcomes
I believe good government is built through steady work, honest conversations, and care for both people and systems.
How I lead
My Work and Professional Experience
My career has been rooted in community-focused, systems-level work focused on helping organizations better serve the people who rely on them.
I currently work in higher education, where I focus on staff equity, talent acquisition, staff accommodations, and organizational systems. My work centers on helping the institution function more fairly, transparently, and effectively; especially in how decisions are made, how resources are allocated, and how people experience those systems day to day. I regularly collaborate with leaders, managers, and frontline staff to improve processes, address barriers, and strengthen accountability.
Alongside my professional role, I have extensive experience in civic engagement and community-based work. I’ve partnered with nonprofits, community organizations, and local leaders to support voter education, leadership development, and coalition-building across diverse communities. This work has required listening closely, navigating complex dynamics, and building trust across differences; all skills that translate directly to public service.
Earlier in my career, I worked in international and cross-cultural environments, including professional experience abroad and involvement in citizen diplomacy. Those experiences sharpened my ability to work across cultures, understand how systems operate differently in different contexts, and approach leadership with humility and curiosity rather than assumption.
Across all of my work - whether in education, civic spaces, or community partnerships - I am known as someone who executes the work, asks thoughtful questions, focuses on long-term outcomes, and is adaptable to changing circumstances. I’m comfortable working within complex systems, balancing competing priorities, and making decisions that require care, context, and follow-through.
That experience is what I bring to this campaign and to the role of County Supervisor: a steady approach, a deep respect for public institutions, and a commitment to making systems work better for the people they serve.
